DAILY LIFE CAPSULE: LIFE BAKERS DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Apostle Sunday A. Adetunmbi

Friday 25th July 2025.

BIBLE READING
Isaiah 42:8:- “I am the Lord; that is My name! I will not yield My glory to another or My praise to idols.”

Luke 17:15–18:- “One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice… Jesus asked, ‘Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine?’”

I welcome you to our lesson on Returning Glory to God.

God shares His Spirit, His power, His promises—but not His glory. Isaiah 42:8 is crystal clear: “I will not give My glory to another.” Why? Because God alone is worthy. As you walk in new realms of glory—healings, favor, influence, answered prayers, prophetic insight—you must resist the temptation to:
Take credit
Boast in self
Seek applause
Let others elevate you above the One who called you.

Every manifestation of glory must end in worship, not personal branding.
Returning glory to God is not just about saying “to God be the glory” out loud. It’s a heart posture of:
Deflecting praise to God
Living in humility
Giving thanks privately and publicly
Redirecting attention from man to Majesty.

God is generous with His presence—but He is protective of His glory. This is not because He’s insecure, but because only He can handle the weight of worship.

Biblical Examples

King Herod’s Downfall – Acts 12:21–23:- Herod gave a public address, and the people shouted, “This is the voice of a god, not a man!” Instead of redirecting the glory to God, he received the praise—and immediately, an angel struck him down. God takes His glory seriously.

When people try to absorb glory, they disrupt divine order. Glory is not for admiration of self—it’s for adoration of God.

The Grateful Leper – Luke 17:11–19:- Ten lepers were healed, but only one came back to give glory to God. Jesus noticed. He said, “Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?” That man not only received healing—he received wholeness.

Thankfulness is a vehicle for returning glory.
Many are blessed by God—but only a few give the credit back.

DAILY SPIRITUAL TASK
In what area of my life have I been tempted to take credit for what God did?
Have I been receiving glory that should be returned to Him?
Write down:
One testimony or blessing from this month where God deserves full credit.
One way you will publicly glorify Him today (social media, testimony, conversation, worship).

Declare aloud:
“All the glory belongs to You, Lord. I will not touch what belongs to heaven.”
Optional: Spend 10 minutes in pure worship, thanking God for all He’s done—naming each gift, then saying, “Yours is the glory.”

MEMORY VERSE
“I am the Lord… I will not yield My glory to another or My praise to idols.” – Isaiah 42:8 (NIV)

PRAYER POINTS
Father, forgive me for every moment I’ve made it about me. I return the glory to You—not just in word, but in attitude, in humility, and in public testimony. You alone deserve it all. In Jesus’ name

Holy Spirit, remind me daily that I am just a vessel. May everything You do through me reflect Your greatness. Help me to reflect glory, not absorb it. Let my life be a spotlight on Jesus alone. In Jesus’ name.
