BIBLE READING
Matthew 17:1–8:- “There He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light… Then a bright cloud covered them, and a voice from the cloud said, ‘This is My Son, whom I love… Listen to Him!’”

2 Corinthians 3:18:- “And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into His image with ever-increasing glory…”

I welcome you to our lesson on Transfigured in Glory.

Transfiguration means to be completely changed in form or appearance, especially to reflect something divine.
Jesus’ transfiguration was a preview of His resurrection glory. It was a moment where heaven kissed earth, and identity, intimacy, and assignment converged.

But here’s the key: Paul says in 2 Corinthians 3:18 that this is not just for Jesus. You are being transformed too.
Every time you:
Behold Him in worship
Meditate on His Word
Linger in His presence
Obey His voice
…you are being transfigured from the inside out.

Glory is not just what you see—it’s what you become. The more you behold Jesus, the more you reflect Him. You begin to:
Think like Him
Love like Him
Forgive like Him
Shine like Him

This glory is not about popularity or power. It is about mirroring the Son, until your life becomes a radiant witness of heaven’s reality.

Biblical Examples

Jesus on the Mount of Transfiguration – Matthew 17:1–8:- Jesus took Peter, James, and John up a high mountain. As they watched, His entire appearance was transformed—His face shone like the sun, His clothes became dazzling white. The cloud of glory surrounded them, and the Father’s voice affirmed His Son.

This was not a vision; it was a visible unveiling of divine glory. The disciples saw the true essence of Jesus, not hidden in humanity, but glowing in deity.

They were so overwhelmed that Peter said, “Let’s stay here.” But glory is not for escape—it’s for transformation and assignment.

Moses After Encountering God – Exodus 34:29–35:- After being in God’s presence for forty days, Moses’ face shone with reflected glory. He didn’t know his face was glowing—but everyone else did. He had to wear a veil because the glory was too intense. He didn’t just hear the law—he was marked by the encounter.
Glory changed his appearance and authority.
The glory was not just personal—it impacted everyone around him.

DAILY SPIRITUAL TASK
“Behold To Become”
Spend at least 10 minutes in focused worship today.
Close your eyes and behold Jesus—see Him high and lifted up. Picture His glory. Picture His face.
Write down:
What do you sense God is highlighting about His nature today?
How is He asking you to reflect Him more fully?
Declare aloud:
“As I behold Your glory, I am being transformed. My life will reflect the image of Christ with increasing brilliance.”
Optional: Light a candle or turn on a soft light while you worship today—as a physical reminder that you were created to shine with God’s glory.

MEMORY VERSE
“We all… contemplate the Lord’s glory, [and] are being transformed into His image with ever-increasing glory.” – 2 Corinthians 3:18 (NIV)

PRAYER POINTS
Jesus, I want to see You in Your glory—not just with my eyes, but with my heart. Take me to the mountain of revelation. Let me behold You until I begin to reflect You. In Jesus’ name.

Holy Spirit, transform me. Peel away the veil. Change me from glory to glory. Let Your light radiate from my thoughts, my speech, and my decisions. May others see Christ in me—pure, bright, and alive. In Jesus’ name.
